Tools for Environmental Monitoring
The PEM2
This compact, highly accurate monitor is the easiest-to-use device of its kind on the market. The outstanding feature of the PEM2 is its method of data retrieval: a USB flash drive (commonly called a thumb drive or USB key) inserted directly into the logger. The PEM2 detects the flash key and—in just seconds—writes all data to the key as a plain text file. After uploading one or more loggers, the user can take the key to a computer and upload the data to the free PEMdata web site at www.pemdata.com.
PEMdata incorporates the best parts of Climate Notebook® (described below) and makes them available on the web, where data can be stored, viewed, and analyzed. More about PEM2>>

Climate Notebook Software
Organize, track, and analyze data on your computer. While we recommend the PEM2 or the original PEM for gathering data, Climate Notebook can also import data from other sources, including ACR, Spectrum, Hobo®, Trak-R, Pinnacle, Dickson, and Rotronic data loggers, and Microsoft® Excel® database files. The original Preservation Environment Monitor
We have many customers using the original PEM in their institutions to measure temperature and RH in storage or display environments. This original version of the PEM is no longer in production, but we still offer full support. The SRAM Card for transfer of data from the original PEM (or other datalogger) to your computer is still available on our order form, as is the OmniDrive Card Reader. You need the external USB card reader if you’re using a desktop computer without a PC card slot. If you have a laptop computer with a PC card slot, you won’t need a card reader.
